If you already have a public Spotify playlist and want to use that list as a starting point in another Android music app, the safest workflow is to work from the public playlist link rather than handing over your Spotify login.
Myt Music supports this type of import. Its current Google Play listing says you can paste a public Spotify playlist link, preview the tracks and bring selected songs into Myt when supported. The app also states that it does not access your Spotify account and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Spotify.
What “public playlist import” actually means
This is not the same as signing into Spotify inside another app. A public playlist URL exposes the playlist’s public metadata so the app can read the track list and use it as a discovery/import reference.
Whether an individual track can be played, saved or downloaded elsewhere still depends on the source, region, availability and your rights to use that content.
Step-by-step workflow
- Open the public Spotify playlist you want to reference.
- Copy its public share link.
- Open Myt Music on Android.
- Paste the public playlist URL into the supported import/preview flow.
- Review the detected track list before adding anything.
- Select only tracks that are supported and legally available for the action you want to perform.
- Organize imported selections into your Myt playlists or favorites.
Why this is different from Spotify offline downloads
Spotify’s own offline downloads remain inside Spotify and follow Spotify’s subscription and DRM model. A public playlist import is a different concept: it uses the playlist as a list of tracks, not as a way to extract Spotify’s protected offline files.
