YouTube Shopping in India is getting a major expansion in 2026. YouTube says Amazon is coming to the Indian affiliate program alongside new retail partners AJIO, Meesho, Snapdeal and Tata CLiQ.
They will join existing partners including Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa, Purplle, Shopsy and Tira, giving creators a much wider catalog of products to tag in videos, Shorts and livestreams.
Which new retailers are joining?
YouTube’s September 2026 India announcement names five major additions:
- Amazon
- AJIO
- Meesho
- Snapdeal
- Tata CLiQ
YouTube says these partners will roll out soon, so a creator may not see every retailer in Studio at the same time.
Why this expansion matters
YouTube says affiliate shopping in India has grown quickly. Average affiliate payouts to Indian creators rose more than 160% year over year from Q1 2025 to Q1 2026. More than half of eligible Indian creators were enrolled by May 2026, and enrolled creators grew more than 200% year over year by June.
YouTube also says creators have tagged products in more than 19 million videos since the Indian Shopping program launched.
Ask YouTube for Shopping
YouTube is also adding shopping-focused capabilities to Ask YouTube. Viewers will be able to ask product questions and follow-up questions directly while watching a video.
For example, a viewer watching a phone review could ask about specifications without leaving the watch page. YouTube says the experience can also work with voice commands while watching on TV.
Localized product offers for global viewers
Product tags are also becoming more useful for creators with international audiences. YouTube says tags can automatically show a localized offer based on where the viewer is watching from, while the creator can still earn commission on eligible cross-border sales.
This reduces one of the biggest problems with global affiliate content: a product link that works well in India may not be the right retailer or offer for a viewer in another country.
What is Affiliate Partnerships Boost?
YouTube Affiliate Partnerships Boost lets brands amplify creator affiliate content through paid campaigns. In practical terms, a brand can take an organic creator video with tagged products and use it to reach a larger audience through advertising.
YouTube says this can increase creator reach while also creating additional commercial opportunities. Nykaa is one of the brands expected to use the feature around major shopping periods.
Who should prepare for the expansion?
This update is especially relevant for Indian creators in:
- Consumer electronics and smartphones
- Fashion and beauty
- Home and lifestyle
- Budget shopping and deal content
- Product comparisons and reviews
Creators should avoid tagging products that are only loosely related to the video. A smaller number of highly relevant products is usually more useful to viewers than a long list of unrelated links.
How to prepare your channel
- Check whether your channel is eligible for YouTube Shopping.
- Review your current affiliate retailers in YouTube Studio.
- Audit older evergreen videos that still receive shopping-intent traffic.
- Update product tags when new retailers become available.
- Use localized offers where YouTube supports them.
- Track which products and video formats produce actual clicks and revenue.
